Spectraswitch™ (U.S. Patent No. 11,493,695) is a passive fiber-optic switching platform designed for safety, simplicity, and reliability. When developed into products, it could be offered in tiered configurations to match different needs, environments, and performance requirements. Self-testing and fault detection are built into all tiers. Pre-cut POF cables would be available in multiple standard lengths for easy installation.

Simple Barn or Garage Lighting Example (Single Switch)
A homeowner installs one rugged, waterproof two-position switch (On / Off) inside the barn. A single lightweight 1 mm fiber (available in lengths from a few meters up to 50 m or more) runs to a small transceiver box mounted near the light fixture. The transceiver reads the switch position and controls the light.
Benefits: Completely safe (no electricity or sparks at the switch), waterproof, shock-proof, and extremely easy to install with basic tools — no conduit or heavy wiring needed. Ideal for large barns with high ceilings.
Optional Three-Way Control (Two Locations)
For added convenience, you can add a second switch at the other end of the barn or at the house entrance. Each switch connects with its own fiber run to the same single transceiver. This creates a true three-way setup (either switch can turn the light on or off) without complicated traveler wires.
Digital Dimming Option
Using our exclusive three-position switch, the third position provides digital dimming control. Pressing it ramps the lights up or down as desired.
Commercial and Industrial Applications
The same core technology scales seamlessly to commercial and industrial environments. In warehouses, workshops, or large facilities, multiple switches can control lighting or equipment from different locations using separate fibers routed to one transceiver — with support for fiber runs anywhere from a few meters up to 100 m. In hazardous areas such as chemical plants, grain elevators, or mining facilities, the fully passive switches and fiber runs offer major safety advantages. The system can support multi-position switching, advanced self-testing, and explosion-proof installations — often at a significantly lower cost than traditional copper-based hazardous-area switches.
